Irish Independent columnist David McWilliams will join Trinity Business School as a professor on global economics.

Recently ranked the UK and Ireland's most influential economist by London's CityAM, Mr McWilliams is credited with predicting a credit bubble during the boom.

A Trinity alumnus, Mr McWilliams said he is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to teach on the Trinity MBA as it allows students to apply skills in live projects.

"As someone who strongly believes that the real world must be at the heart of education, I think this is the right approach. Going back to Trinity, where I first learned and became fascinated by economics, is a bit like coming home really."
