Gas plant poison kills 4 in Rampur

Four labourers died of suffocation and three sustained serious injuries while cleaning the bio-gas plant of Rampur Distillery on Wednesday. The injured labourers have been admitted to Moradabad district hospital where there condition was stated to be critical.

Rakesh Kumar, district magistrate of Rampur has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.

As per insiders, there were over 20 labourers when some poisonous gas started leaking from the gas plant. While some of them managed to escape from there, seven of them couldn't realize that it was fatal.
