KIEV (Sputnik) — The council also said that the new doctrine reaffirmed Kiev's decision to abandon its non-bloc status and "to resume the strategic course on Euro-Atlantic integration," according to the statement.

"The new military doctrine of Ukraine determines the Russian Federation as the country's military adversary and defines conditions for the liberation of temporary occupied territories of Ukraine," the council said in a statement.

The new doctrine will be soon submitted to the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko for signing.
