Johannesburg - Two men were injured Tuesday afternoon in a shooting incident in Johannesburg, said paramedics.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said the incident occurred on 10th and Durban Street intersection in Marshalltown, Johannesburg.

Meiring said paramedics arrived on the scene and found the two patients sitting inside a vehicle.

“Metro services were already in attendance, securing the scene.”

On assessment paramedics found that both men had sustained numerous gunshot wounds and were in a serious condition, Meiring said.

“Paramedics removed the patients from the vehicle and immediately began their treatment, providing the patients with advanced life support interventions.”

Once treated, the patients were transported to Milpark Hospital for urgent treatment.

The cause of the shooting is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
