In chaturmas, PM Modi eating once a day for 4 months

In the Hindu calendar, chaturmas or the four months of the monsoon begins on ekadashi, the eleventh lunar day in the month of Ashadh, and ends on ekadashi in the month of Kartik.

In Gujarat, chaturmas falls between dev podhi ekadashi (Hindus believe that’s the day Lord Vishnu goes to sleep) and dev uthi ekadashi (the day he awakens).

Those who observe chaturmas eat only once a day, at a time of their choosing.
