The series hypothesizes that the trio of vampire sisters from Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” are living in present-day New York.

This adaptation, news of which was first reported by Deadline, is another example of projects tied to historical novels. CW is developing a “hyper-stylized, gritty” dystopian look at “Little Women.” Showtime’s Victorian-set psychological thriller “Penny Dreadful” regularly features characters based on literary figures, and season three will include Dr. Henry Jekyll. Fox’s upcoming drama “Lookinglass,” which was previously titled “The Frankenstein Code,” is inspired by the mythology created by the Mary Shelley novel.
