Royal Enfield clocks record sales of over 40,000 bikes in August

In August 2015, Royal Enfield sold 42,360 bikes, the first time ever to sell more than forty thousand units in a single month. The company grew by over 59 per cent over last year

Royal Enfield has posted record sales for a single month, selling 42,360 units in combined domestic and exports in August 2015.

Domestic sales alone stood at 41,600 units, with exports at 760 units for the month of August. Overall, Royal Enfield recorded a growth of 59 per cent over the same period last year. Exports in the month of August grew by over 45 per cent compared to August 2014 and Royal Enfield continues to push forward to strengthen its presence and clock sales internationally.

In August, Royal Enfield announced its entry in Indonesia at GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2015. The company announced its future plans for Indonesia, the third largest two wheeler market in the world, as a part of its global expansion strategy. Royal Enfield will commence retail operations In Indonesia in the coming months from its exclusive dealership in Jakarta

Royal Enfield also announced its first wholly owned subsidiary outside India, in North America, as a part of its international strategy to lead and expand the global mid-sized motorcycle segment.  The subsidiary will directly sell to dealers and even to customers and will directly conduct all market development and support activities such as marketing, service, after sales etc for the brand in North America.
