She's back in fashion, as Michelle Rocca steps out with daughter
THE almost reclusive former Miss Ireland was a surprise guest at a fashion event in Dublin last night.
The wife of Van Morrisson, who was crowned Miss Ireland in 1980, attended the Louise Kennedy Fashion Gala last night with her daughter Natasha Rocca Devine.
Taking to Twitter, Natasha who is the daughter of former Ireland and Arsenal footballer John Devine, posted a photo with her 53-year-old mum:
"Myself and my fabulous mum @MRoccaMorrison at @1LouiseKennedy Stunning Show. Love & Light Michelle! X"
Michelle has rarely been photographed in recent years, shunning the limelight to concentrate on her family and studies.
The one time TV presenter who hosted the Eurovision with Pat Kenny in 1988, is now a psychology and motivational teacher with a masters in philosophy and english.
Long considered one of Ireland's greatest beauties, Michelle was one half of Ireland's Posh & Becks when she dated Devine in the 1980s.
She was previously engaged to and had a child with the late Ryanair director Cathal Ryan, but went on to meet and marry Van Morrisson in the mid 1990s.
The couple who live in Dalkey are never seen together in public, have two children, Aibhe and Fionn Ivan.
Natasha, who had a promising modelling career, was injured in a horror accident in 2004 when on holidays in San Francisco.
The then 19-year-old model was left with a subarachnoid brain haemhorrage, jaw injuries and memory loss. However she has since battled back and defied the surgeons’ predictions for her future to write a book about her recovery.
Last night the mother and daughter mingled with guests at the launch of the Louise Kennedy Autumn/Winter Collection at The Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin.
Other guests at the show, where the Tipperary designer celebrated 30 years in fashion, included Keith and Lisa Duffy, Pamela Flood and the President's wife Sabina Higgins.
