Kabali shooting to commence in Chennai, not Malaysia

Superstar Rajinikanth is set to kick-start shooting for Kabali in September. We hear that Thalaivar, Ranjith, and their team will begin shooting on the auspicious day of Vinayaga Chathurthi. Earlier, there were rumours that the shooting of Kabali will commence in Malaysia. But now, sources say that the first schedule of the film will take place in Chennai, and not Malaysia.
A source close to the unit says, ���Ever since the announcement of the film, it was rumoured that the shooting will commence in Malaysia. However, they will begin the first schedule in Chennai and then head to Malaysia for the second schedule. Rajini sir is totally kicked about the new plan to start work from Chennai.���
