Shots fired outside Fremantle hostel in sibling feud

A Pinjarra man has been charged with a string of offences, including threatening to kill after he fired a gun in Fremantle after an altercation with his sister on Monday night.

Police spokeswoman Ros Weatherall said the 32-year-old man met his sister in a car park of a hostel on Hampton Road.

"A verbal altercation occurred between the two, before the man allegedly pulled a firearm from under his jumper," she said.

"The victim ran into the premises, during which time the man discharged the firearm a number of times. The woman was not injured during the incident.

"He then ran from the area."

A 32-year-old man was arrested an hour later at his residence in Pinjarra by local police and Tactical Response Group officers.

He has been charged with a number of offences including threatening to kill, going armed in a way to cause fear, discharge of a firearm in a manner to cause fear to the public and breach of a violent restraint order.

He was due to appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
