Six arrested in Harlow after shot man taken to hospital

Six men have been arrested after a 23-year-old man was taken to hospital in Essex with a minor gunshot wound to his hand and a broken arm.

Police were called to the Willowfield area of Harlow on Sunday after reports a man had been assaulted and a shotgun had been fired.

A shotgun was seized by police at an address in Little Pynchons.

Five of the men arrested on charges including attempted murder and GBH were from Harlow and one from Shropshire.

Two men, both aged 25, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, two aged 21 and 23 were arrested on suspicion of assault, grievous bodily harm and possession of firearms offences and a 25-year-old on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, possession of firearms offences and assisting an offender.

The 49-year-old man from Shropshire was arrested on suspicion of assault, grievous bodily harm and possession of firearms offences.

They are all in custody awaiting questioning, Essex Police said.
