Walking the ramp for a cause is in vogue in Hyderabad. So on Sunday, at the launch of a city ladies’ club, a bevy of beauties walked the ramp to peppy Bollywood numbers at a posh city hotspot for the cause of underprivileged children. However, the launch of the club was not strictly an ‘all ladies’ affair. The men turned up and some even walked the ramp too to further the cause of charity.

Spreading positive vibes:When asked if charity events like this can really make a difference, socialite Karishma Sathe, who has walked for several other charity ramp shows, says, “Why not? Look at the vibe here, it’s so positive.” Karishma, who was walking the ramp with her 16-year-old daughter, Samruddhi, adds, “When one person comes, her friends come too and they all come for a cause. So initiatives like these can actually make a big difference.”Stars who want to do their bit:
The charity bash saw some famous Tollywood faces who turned up to do their bit along with the P3Ps and aam janta for the cause of children in need. Actor Navdeep who says, he mostly “walks the ramp for charity” says, “I think this is the 4th time I am walking the ramp for a cause. This way I can ensure that my time and some money goes towards the support of a good cause.” Actress Lakshmi Manchu, who was the chief guest of the show, turned up for the launch even when she was unwell and wished the ladies good luck in their endeavor. “I wish the ladies good luck in for their endeavor and I am happy to be here,” she said. Actors Sridhar Rao and Neha Deshpande were also present at the do.
No big designers, just local tailors :Geet Gupta who was instrumental in taking the initiative says, “Also, all those who walk the ramp will be wearing clothes stitched by local darjis and not fancy designers. So it will work towards their uplift too.”
