SRK’s daughter all set to marry Dileep today

It's Nirupama's big day
SRK’s daughter all set to marry Dileep today
After the mega sangeet and a packed schedule involving traditional rituals earlier this week, it was a low-key mehendi ceremony for Nirupama Shivarajkumar on Saturday, who will wed her fiancé Dileep today. Both Shivarajkumar and Geetha were certain that they wanted the mehendi to be an intimate affair and only family and close friends were part of the celebrations.
The mehendi ceremony started at 11 am and saw Nirupama dressed in a red lehenga. Nazreen, an expert from Sadashivnagar, was roped in for the event and she created intricate patterns on the bride’s hands. The highlight was a discreet D, the initial of the groom, which was woven into the design.
“All of Niru’s cousins and college friends had come to participate in the event. Her mother-in-law Parvati was one of the first people to draw a pattern on her hand, followed by my paternal aunts — all this gave the proceedings a personal touch. Even Geetha, who has been busy with all the wedding preparations, made time to get mehendi done on her hand,” says Shivarajkumar. While the ceremony was largely restricted to the ladies of the household, Shivanna briefly joined in to shake a leg to the Yo Yo Honey Singh tunes that were playing through the ceremony. “It will make me emotional that she’s set to go away from us, though I’m excited about her tying the knot,” he adds.
Meanwhile, the lunch menu for the day was Italian and Chinese — Nirupama’s favourite cuisines. And some guests flew in from across the world to be at the event, which made it even more special. “Cudavalli Chandrashekar of Edakallu Guddada Mele fame and his wife have specially come from Ottawa for the wedding and attended the mehendi celebrations too. Chi Gurudutt was also here,” sums up the actor.
