Former One Direction star Zayn Malik is reportedly smitten with Burberry model Neelam Gill.

The newly single heart throb has been on several dates with British-Indian beauty Neelam, according to the MailOnline.

Perrie Edwards and ex fiancé Zayn Malik

An inside source told the outlet that the 21-year-old singer is "smitten" after meeting her in London earlier this year and again at the Asian Awards during the summer.

Zayn called it quits with his long-term love Perrie Edwards in July, after several years of dating.

However, the source divulged that Zayn is not wary of getting into a new relationship as he invited Neelam (20) to join him in Los Angeles where he is currently working on his solo album.

Coventry native Neelam, Burberry's first ever Indian model, shared images of her LA sojourn online over the weekend.

"To live and die in LA, it's the place to be..." she wrote.

The exotic beauty has spoken several times about the pressures of being an Indian model in the industry which is dominated by young, Caucasian females.

"I just do as much as I can to raise awareness about diversity in the industry. And that's why I'm so proud to get any job. It's more of an achievement for me, I think, being the first Indian model to work for so many big brands."

"I do feel pressure. I can't lie. But it's in a good way, because it motivates me to work harder. People don't realize that although a lot of designers are open to diverse casting now, a lot of other ones just think it's easier to use girls that look the same and have the same aesthetic."

"Some shows have line-ups that look like robots. They all have blonde hair and pale skin, and you can't tell them apart. I don't think people realize what I have to go through, and how much harder it is for me to get modeling jobs. But that just motivates me because when I get them, I get so much support."

Neelam was also selected by Kanye West to walk in one of his Adidas shows.

"He was so nice. I told him the story of when I was in high school and I worked in retail and I saved up my paychecks for months to buy tickets to see him live. And he said, 'I know you from the Burberry shows! You're doing such a good job!' He was really, really supportive," she recently told Elle.com
