Big III preparing statute against people's sentiments, claims Mahato

BIRGUNJ: Chairman of Sadhbhawana Party, Rajendra Mahato, accused leaders of big three parties of preparing grounds to promulgate the new constitution incapable of reflecting public sentiments.

Speaking with local mediapersons in Birgunj, Mahato claimed that despite the government calling the agitating Madhesi parties for dialogues, leaders from Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoists have not been positive towards Madhes.

Following the murder of seven security personnel in Kailali last week, the situation in Tarai region is yet to come to normalcy while a number of Tarai-based political parties have been continuing their protests against the proposed state demarcation.

“The big parties have been attempting to deviate the protests launched by the Madhesis and Tharus and to come up with a make-believe constitution,” he said, “This, hence, calls for the final protest with do or die motive.”

Asking the Madhesi leaders to boycott the Constituent Assembly (CA) and to join "the revolution", Mahato said that this was not the time for the Madhesi lawmakers to witness the trifles inside CA.

He further stated that the government, instead of getting serious towards holding talks with the Madhesi parties, was busy suppressing the protesters, deploying the army and managing the arms.
