Kapoor and Sons since 1921: Sidharth, Fawad and Alia try their hand at playback

Bollywood actors have recently taken to doing playback for their movies. It is not as if it has not been done before. Amitabh Bachchan has given his voice to his songs quite a few times in the past. But lately, many more actors have taken to the microphone.

In 2015 itself, Salman's song Main Hoon Hero Tera, for his production Hero, has taken the social media by storm. Then, we heard that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan too may be singing for her upcoming film Jazbaa. Now, reports are that Fawad Khan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra may also croon for Kapoor and Sons Since 1921.

The Shakun Batra directorial, which is set to release in 2016, may have the three lead actors sing for the film. Sidharth will be making his debut as a singer. Alia gained a lot of praise for singing Sooha Saha in Highway and then also taking the microphone in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Fawad on the other hand is a professional singer and has been a part of bands back home in Pakistan.

The music for the film is being composed by Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, who have been very successful in making stars render their own songs. Be it Farhan for Rock On, Hrithik and Abhay Deol for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara or the more recent Dil Dhadakne Do.

Kapoor and Sons in 1921 is reportedly based on the lives of siblings played by Sidharth and Fawad. We hear that Fawad may be playing a gay character in the film. Rishi Kapoor maybe playing the role of a grandfather to the boys, in the film.
