Avinash, the new onscreen villain

Avinash BS is making his debut in an interesting scenario. The entrepreneur has taken up acting after years of contemplation of doing just that behind the counters of his bar. And he has chosen an offbeat script to start off —TS Nagabharana’s Allama. “I dreamt of seeing myself on the big screen, but work kept me busy and I did not know how to make inroads into the industry.
I met actor Chiranjeevi Sarja through a common friend at the gym and he put me in touch with the right people. I then met Panaga Bharana, who took it upon himself to train me for the big screen. I went through workshops on acting and basic confidence building before he suggested my name for a character in his dad’s upcoming film,” explains Avinash. While he is a tad senior to be making a debut, Avinash tells us that the industry has opened up to people irrespective of their age. “There are stories being written for characters of my age and I am positive there is room for all. I hope to play negative characters, as that’s something I can’t do in real life,” he says. In the Dhananjaya-starrer Allama, Avinash plays a guy who believes that it is the body that maketh a person, while Allama shows him otherwise. “It is an unusual character and that makes it more interesting,” he says.
