Raje trying to divert attention from own scams: Gehlot
JAIPUR/ JODHPUR: Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday alleged that the CBI probe against him and other Congress leaders in the 108 Ambulance case was a diversionary tactic by chief minister Vasundhara Raje to hide her own scams.
"It is a move to divert attention from the scams committed by chief minister Raje. It is inspired by political vendetta," Gehlot said while talking to reporters at Jodhpur civil airport on Saturday.
He added that the case could have been probed by the state government, instead of the CBI.

The CBI registered the case against Gehlot, PCC chief Sachin Pilot, former health minister AA Khan and other top Congress leaders on Friday for alleged embezzlement of Rs 2.56 crore in the 108 Ambulance Services.
Gehlot stressed there were serious allegations against Raje and her son Dushyant Singh, too, and if the chief minister had the courage, she would have got the charges against herself and her parliamentarian son also probed by the CBI to maintain transparency.
"But she took only this matter (108 Ambulance scam) to the CBI just to hog headlines and divert public attention from the scams she is involved in," Gehlot claimed, adding that he is not worried about the charges against him as the law would take its course and he would come out clean.

Former Union minister and Congress leader from Alwar Jitendra Singh also accused chief minister Raje of indulging in political vendetta. "These Congress leaders have been booked because they highlighted the Lalit Modi scandal, heritage haveli sale-purchase scandal, Dholpur House ownership case, antique carpet theft cases and countless other corruption cases against CM Raje and her MP son Dushyant," the former Union minister said in a statement.
Singh stressed that the CBI case against Gehlot, Pilot, Khan and others was a 'failed attempt' to divert attention from Raje-government's administrative failures and anti-people attitude.
