Crystal Palace stuns Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea’s nightmare start to the Premier League season continued Saturday at home, as Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace shocked the Blues, winning 2-1.

In Jose Mourinho’s 100th Premier League game in charge of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, the Blues suffered just their second loss, leaving the reigning champions with four points from their first four games of the season.

With Chelsea desperately needing a goal, Mourinho chose to introduce youngsters Ruben Loftus-Cheek and 19-year-old Brazilian Kenedy — but it was new arrivals Pedro and Radamel Falcao who (temporarily) saved Chelsea with an equalizer in the 79th.

Minutes later, a bad pass from Pedro led to Eden Hazard losing possession, sparking a Palace attack. Yannick Bolasie stared down Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma at the edge of the penalty area and sent in a cross to an unmarked Sako, who set up Joel Ward directly in front of goal.
