Andrea Smith talks to the presenter of The Early, Early Breakfast Show on 2fm about her favourite purchases
Nike runners
Runners have suddenly become very stylish now, which is brilliant because I live in them as they're so bloody comfortable! I usually wear Nike Free or Flyknit, (Nike Free, €100-€120, Elverys.ie) and I love that I can wear them with my jeans for work, or throw sweatpants on with them to teach dancing at weekends. As I've had a couple of injuries to my feet and ankles, it's important that my runners give me good support.
Skincare
My mum has always given me tips for looking after my skin, and she introduced me to La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50 moisturiser (€20, 50ml). Whatever she says is gold to me, because she looks incredible and has amazing skin.
Jeans
I love TopShop jeans and have them in every colour and style. TopShop has obviously done a lot of research into what women want from jeans, because theirs don't sag on your bottom halfway through the day and they stay looking good month after month. My current favourites are their ripped jeans (ripped Joni jeans from €50, TopShop.com).
Stationery
I'm a bit of a stationery freak, and will literally spend an hour staring at diaries and planners in shops. At school, I was one of those people who would push a button on their pencil case and 20 different compartments would open - complete nerd central. I love my black Moleskine Weekly Planner (€18.99, Paperweight.ie) and my head would fall off without it because I need to write everything down. I get one every Christmas from my mum Morah, and they're great quality.
Coffee table books
I'm a divil for coffee table books, because I'm really into photography. I love Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's Influence (€29.50), a hardback collection of great interviews and pictures with people who have influenced them. I'm a big fan of Bowie, fashion-wise, so I also love David Bowie Black Book (€24.50), which features rare photos of him.
iPhone 6
I know they're expensive (from €699) but I love my iPhone 6 as the camera is incomparable. I bought a Canon camera a few years ago as I love taking pictures, but I don't need to bring it out with me now as the picture quality from my phone is so good.
Headphones
It's so important for my work to have good headphones, and I think it's okay to splurge on something that's an investment and will last a lifetime. My headphones are Sennheiser HD 25 (€219-€299, Waltons.ie), which lots of people in RTÉ use. My dad (the late Gerry Ryan) wore them as well, so I knew they were reliable and good quality. I use them daily in studio doing the entertainment news and for my show at weekends, and in my spare time, I use them for listening to music and podcasts.
