Low pressure over Bay Of Bengal to trigger rain for 48 hours

The low pressure phenomena resulted in rain at a few places
Hyderabad: A heavy rainfall warning for isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has been continued for the next 48 hours. Isolated place of the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam of Telangana would receive heavy rains, as per the IMD forecast.
As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) inference, “The well marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay Of Bengal and adjoining west central Bay Of Bengal and adjoining areas of coastal Odisha has become a low pressure area on Friday and lies over Odisha and adjoining Jharkhand.”
The low pressure phenomena resulted in rain at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and at isolated places over Rayalaseema.
In the last 24 hours, Podili of Prakasam district recorded the maximum rain of 5 cm in AP followed by Nuzvid from Krishna and Chintapalle from Vishakhapatnam which recorded 4 cm each.
In Telangana, Ramannapeta mandal of Nalgonda district recorded the maximum rainfall of 5 cm followed by Miryalaguda of Nalgonda and Eturnagaram mandal of Warangal, Pargi of Rangareddy which recorded 3 cm each.
City waterlogged in a short spell of rain:
Roads were waterlogged at several places in the city due to a short spell of rain from noon. The city has been witnessing light to moderate rains over the last few days owing to the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal.
In the last 24 hours, Hyderabad received around 1.3 mm rainfall, according to the India Meteorological Department, and there was a drizzle for a couple of hours towards the evening.
Waterlogging and traffic jams were observed at Peddamagudi, Madhapur, LIC Colony in West Maredpally, Trimulgherry, Bible House, AS Rao Nagar and several low-lying areas. At some places, cars and motorcycles got stuck on the water-logged roads. The GHMC’s central emergency team received several calls regarding water-logging and fallen trees.
