OSAKA -- Sharp is stepping up the search for a capital tie-up partner for its troubled LCD business as a rapid earnings decline dims its prospects for a turnaround.
Under a medium-term business plan released in May, the struggling electronics manufacturer envisioned an earnings recovery driven by its liquid crystal display business, with cuts in personnel costs and other streamlining steps also contributing to the comeback.
