SPU arrests key militant commander

PESHAWAR: A Special Police Unit (SPU) has arrested a key terrorist commander in an operation carried out in Hayatabad, Peshawar, officials said today.

As per the official, the SPU arrested Bilal Kodo and recovered huge cache of arms and explosive from his possession.

According to the SPU, the alleged terrorist belongs to banned terror outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Khyber Agency whereas he was involved in attacks on security forces.

One of the companions of the alleged terrorists had died when a pre-planted bomb exploded in the locality of Hayatabad.

The arrested militant was shifted to an unidentified place and further investigation is underway.
