Skies will be bright and clear over the next several days, save for a few fair weather clouds, the National Weather Service said.

“We have seasonable weather today,” said Kim Buttrick, a weather service meteorologist, “and then a slow increase in the temperature and dew point each day through the weekend.”

Highs on Friday will be in the upper 70s to 80. Humidity will remain comfortable as dew points peak in the high 50s.

Temperatures will start to climb this weekend as highs are expected to reach the lower 80s Saturday and upper 80s Sunday.

The heat next week will continue to creep into the high 80s. Central and Western Massachusetts may see more 90 degree weather by Wednesday next week, while boston remains in the high 80s, Buttrick said.

As it stands, Boston’s long-range forecast shows Tropical Storm Erika avoiding the region.

The exact path Tropical Storm Erika will take is still uncertain, but based on current models the storm will likely stay well south of New England, Buttrick said.

“The National Hurricane Center is keeping Erika well to our south, across the Caribbean and then to Florida on Tuesday,” she said.
