Abhigyan Mukherjee's debut directorial, Chitra, is essentially a love story focusing on women empowerment. And according to the director, who has also penned the script and screenplay, the film is a dream-come-true for him. ���I wanted to don the director's hat right from my childhood. And for my debut film, I wanted to work with a fresh cast, as I'm a fresher myself. I hope the audience will like it, as we have all put in a lot of effort,��� Abhigyan said.
The film is about an NRI, Neel (Abhijit Bhattacharya) and a college girl,
Chitra (Pujarini Ghosh), who fall in love, only to be ostracized by society . The film is about how
Chitra breaks free from the shackles of her conservative surroundings. ���The title,
Chitra, means a picture and this romantic thriller actually holds up the various images of our society . The characters in the film are intense and symbolize modern society's varied facets.
