When the cold death stalked Muzaffarnagar riots in September 2013 and victims were hounded out of their homes, Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan and Secretary Faiz-e-Aam Trust Mr. Iftekhar Husain along with Managing Editor Siasat Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan and Trustee Faiz-e-Aam Trust Mr. Rizwan Hyder visited riot hit Muzaffarnagar. They observed that Muslims of Muzaffarnagar were deprived of education as they were working for Rajputs as bounded labour. Hence Siasat in collaboration with Faiz-e-Aam Trust established two schools namely Millat Public School in Jogia Kheda in which classes from Nursery to 7th are conducted. It is heartening to note that during the past one year number of students coming from nearby villages is constantly on the rise. Number of students rose to 540 from 178.
Financial condition of Muslims in Jogiakheda and surrounding colonies is very poor. 99 pc of the Muslims live in kachcha houses and rear buffaloes.
After the establishment of Millat public school interest of education was generated among local Muslims. A sum of Rs. 1.6 lakhs is spent on monthly basis by Siasat Millat Fund and Faiz-e-Aam Trust on the school. Both the institutions have brought back zest of living and interest of education among the riot victims.
