ABP Ananda last week held the Sera Bangali Awards 2015 to recognise and applaud excellence by Bengalis across significant categories of contribution to society. The youth event, 'Sera Bangali: Kalker Sera Aajke', recognised achievers under 25 years of age. Sera Bangali got younger as it stepped into its 11th year.

A 360-degree integrated communication plan created hype leading to the event and coverage across TV, print, digital platforms, radio and outdoors. The communication was about “acknowledging the achievements of Bengalis who still inspire us today, show us the path to stay ahead and along with them it is about those who give us the faith that they would continue to take Bengalis ahead in the coming days”.

The Awards recognised nine extraordinary Sera Bangalis and six young Sera Bangali achievers. The Sera Bangali Award winners included Ritwick Chakraborty (acting), Aditya Vikram Sengupta (direction), Aravinda Chakravarti (science), Arundhati Bhattacharya (Serar Sera), Suman Mukhopadhyay (theatre/ acting), Ganesh Haloi (art), Anirban Lahiri (sports), Saurav Ghosal (talent) and Amit Chaudhuri (literature).

The Sera Bangali Kalker Sera Aajke awardees included Pitambar Khan (art), Ayonika Paul (sports), Debaditya Pramanik (science), Ritika Nath (literature), Lagnajita Chakraborty (music), and Riddhi Sen (acting).

Sera Bangali Kalker Sera Aajke was hosted by actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay and ABP Ananda anchor Reshmi Bagchi, while the classic Sera Bangali was hosted by actress Swastika Mukherjee and ABP Ananda Senior Executive Editor Suman De.
