Qatar Airways to resume services from Nagpur from December

Qatar Airways on Thursday said it will restart a direct flight between Nagpur and Doha from December. The reinstated service will take the airline's total weekly passenger flights from 95 to 102 across 13 key cities in the country, the airline, for whom India is the largest market, said in a statement from Doha. The airline used to serve Nagpur during January 2008 to May 2009.

Commenting on the decision, airlines' chief executive Akbar Al Baker said, "reinstating the Doha-Nagpur route is part of our strategy to serve increasing demand. Today, India has the largest number of destinations served by our carrier across any market and we will continue to look for more destinations and additional flights to expand our reach in the Subcontinent." The airline will deploy an A320 in the new route offering 144 seats. Qatar Airways currently connects 12 cities in the country from its hub in Doha to destinations like Barcelona, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, London, Miami, New York, Paris, Philadelphia, Rome, and Washington among others.

Launched 18 years ago, the airline has a fleet of 164 aircraft to 151 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, West Asia, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas.
