Floyd Mayweather’s Training Regimen? Boxing With $100 Bills
As if being named the highest-paid athlete in the world, buying the most-expensive car on the planet or celebrating with $15,000 crystal cakes didn’t already clue you in, Floyd Mayweather would like you to know that he possesses a Scrooge McDuck-ian amount of wealth.
For proof, look no further than a new training video he posted on Instagram, which shows him working the heavy bag while clutching a phonebook-thick stack of $100 bills in his hand. As if you’d expect anything less from the man named “Money.”
In the clip, taken from the first episode of the Showtime’s All Access series – premiering Friday at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT – Mayweather is given a plastic-wrapped bundle of bills (for “motivation”), which he clutches in his right hand while jabbing with his left. It’s all in preparation for what he says will be his final fight, a September 12 bout with Andre Berto, which is fitting, considering most folks think he’ll be able to beat his 31-year-old opponent (who’s lost three of his last six fights) with one hand.
But, hey, don’t let that reality lessen your enjoyment of the video.
Earlier this week, Mayweather made headlines by purchasing an ultra-rare Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita, which comes with a $4.8 million price tag and apparently “shines like millions of diamonds.” It’s not only the most-expensive car in the world, it’s also the rarest – only two have been made to date. This being Mayweather, it should come as no surprise that he bought it with the money he made selling a Ferrari Enzo, which had previously been owned by the Sheikh of Abu Dhabi.
You hear that, Ronda? Floyd’s got lots of money.
