Expanding its lineup in the small commercial vehicle market, Tata Motors has launched the new Ace Mega Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV), priced at Rs. 4.31 lakhs (ex-showroom, Thane). Positioned between the Tata Ace HT and Super Ace, the new Ace Mega comes with a payload capacity of 1 tonne and promises to offer best in class fuel efficiency and low cost of ownership. The company is offering the new Ace Mega in a single Azure blue shade and will initially launch the model in seven states including including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, before expand to other states in a phased manner.

The new Tata Ace Mega is developed on the company’s three core vectors for commercial vehicles called DesigNext, PerformanceNext and FuelNext in order to provide superior performance, profitability and load carrying capacity for the owner. The LCV draws power from the fourth generation 800cc twin-cylinder DiCOR diesel engine that produces 40 HP of power and 94 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Ace Mega comes with front and rear leaf spring suspensions and a ground clearance of 175 mm with 30 percent gradability ensuring better stability on our varied road conditions. The top speed is rated at 90 km/hr, while Tata claims an ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 18.5 km/l.

The exteriors are familiarly styled in-line with other Ace models and the Tata Ace Mega gets protective wheel arch eyebrows, body graphics, wide angle ORVMs and a body coloured front bumper. Aimed to provide a comfortable cabin, the LCV features a lockable glovebox, mobile charging facility, provision for music system, digital clock and fabric upholstered seats. Tata Motors is providing a warranty of 2 years/72,000 kms (whichever is earlier) on the Ace Mega and promises over 1800 service touch points and a workshop at every 50 kms across the country.
