Watertown’s historic mansion celebrating 150 years

The historic Commander's Mansion, at 440 Talcott Ave. in Watertown, will host a free celebration on Sept. 13 to mark its 150th anniversary, organizers recently announced. Courtesy of the town's Veterans' Services Department, the USS Constitution's color guard will kick off the community event, which will take place from 1 to 4 p.m., organizers said. The festivities will also include tours of the house, lessons on local history, food, activities, performances, and games. The Commander's Mansion, as part of the former Watertown Arsenal complex, has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1976.
