The screening of the film Kaun Kitney Paani Mein at the Siri Fort auditorium on Tuesday saw a huge gathering of politicians, social activists and many from the film and fashion fraternity. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was invited by the film’s director, Nila Madhab Panda, and was present with deputy CM Manish Sisodia.
After the screening, Kejriwal, who is known for his on-the-spot ‘film reviews’, told us, “It’s a good film and the acting and direction are excellent.
Main Gulshan Grover sahab ka bahut bada fan hoon. Aaj milne ka mauka mila, Saurabh Shuklaji ki bhi kai filmein dekhi hain.” Sisodia said, “Main filmon ka bahut shaukeen hoon. This kind of a film makes you think. Water crisis is a huge issue at the moment. We can’t make water available for everyone in Delhi itself.”
Since the movie is based in Odisha, the director of the movie had called his friends and politicians from Odisha, including Prasanna Kumar Patasani, Ramchandra Khuntia and Baijayant Jay Panda. While Kunal Kapoor and Gulshan were almost mobbed for selfies, Radhika Apte gave the screening a miss. Kunal, who plays a prince in the film, said, “I have met people from the royal family in Bhubaneswar, which helped me prepare for the role.
The film addresses the major issues of the day in rural Odisha.” Produced by One Drop Foundation in association with Eleeanora Images & Beyond Dreams Entertainment, the film is releasing on August 28. The film is a story of two villages fighting over water and raises the issues of water crisis and sanitation in rural areas.
