Japanese lawmaker Noda keeping her sights on LDP presidency

TOKYO -- Seiko Noda has been elected eight times as a lower house lawmaker from Gifu Prefecture, stretching from 1993 to today. Recently, she is especially enthusiastic about working on laws that promote women in business.

     Among a small number of female members in Japan's Diet, Noda, who has held many ministerial posts, is a strong candidate to be the first female prime minister of the country.
