Back in June, HTC head Cher Wang while apologising to share holders for the fall in company's profit margin, had hinted at the launch of an all new 'Hero' aka 'Aero' flagship series later in the year. Adding credibility to those hints, the features and price details of the upcoming device have surfaced online suggesting that the launch is just around the corner.

Chinese technology blog Mobile-Dad citing sources has claimed that the HTC is planning to unveil the Aero smartphone in October, but with a new commercial moniker HTC A9.

It is believed that the device will flaunt all-metal body like the company's flagship One series, but its design has been tweaked for the purpose of differentiation between the two model series. However, the picture leaked by Twitter spy Steve Hemmerstoffer of an alleged HTC A9, looks awfully similar to Apple iPhone 6 series.

The curved corners and white plastic strip on the top and the bottom is uncanny. The only difference between the two is that the HTC phone houses the camera in the middle, whereas the Apple device comes with snapper in the top-left corner. [View the HTC A9 images, HERE]

That being said, HTC A9 will be completely different in terms of hardware. It is expected to flaunt 2.5D curved glass on the front and inside it will come packed with MediaTek's new Helio X20 Deca-core SoC (System on Chip) and a state-of-art camera on the rear-side, much superior to HTC One M9, which was launched early this year.

Word on the street is that HTC A9 will make its way first to US via AT&T and is expected to be priced around 3000 -4000 Yuan ($468-$624/€406-€542/₹31050-₹41360).
