Two burglars, who have stolen property worth Rs.40 lakh in various offences, were nabbed by a special team of Guntur Crime Control Station sleuths on Tuesday. As many as 820 grams of gold, 30 kg of silver, two motor cycles, two television sets were recovered from their possession.
Guntur Urban Superintendent of Police Sarva Sresth Tripathi said that accused had been identified as Chollangi Suresh and Janjanam Venkateswara Rao and they were involved in various offences reported in Arundelpet, Pattabhipuram and Nallapadu police station limits in the last one year.
A special team led by ASP, CCS, B.P Thiruppal, DSP P. Srinivas and CIs P. Balaji and P. Vema Reddy nabbed the accused.
“The accused used to target the houses located in isolated areas, gain entry through window grills, break the almariah and make away with the valuables.
They also have the habit of consuming liquor and food in the houses where they commit offences.
Noticing a certain pattern in committing the thefts reported last year and we zeroed on the culprits after a through investigation,’’ the SP said.
The accused have committed five offences in Pattabhipuram, four in Arundelpet and one in Nallpadu police station limits, he added.
