Actors Anil Kapoor and John Abraham came out to interact with fans at a suburban Mumbai mall on Sunday evening, kickstarting the promotional activity for Anees Bazmee's muchawaited film Welcome Back.

In sync with the spirit of bonhomie the comedy film promises, it was an afternoon of zest and celebration. Egged on by the hundreds of fans who gathered to watch their stars in action, the two actors broke into an impromptu jig to the beats of Tutti bole wedding di, the peppy dance number of the film that is fast rising the popularity charts.

Anil and John also posed for selfies with a few fans and spoke of their film, hoping fans would show the same warm reception to the film as they did to Welcome, the first film of the series released in 2007. While Anil will reprise his role as Majnu Bhai, John will play Ajju Bhai.

The story of Welcome Back, a sequel to Welcome, is reportedly linked to that first film in a bizarre way considering there has been a dramatic change in the film's lead cast. However, the cast and crew of the film are not willing to reveal what the bizarre quotient is, just yet.

In Welcome Back, John and Shruti Haasan have taken over from Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif as the leading stars while Naseeruddin Shah is all set to play the role of a powerful don just as the late Feroz Khan did in Welcome.

Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal return in trademark comic roles. The film will also see the return of Shiney Ahuja for the first time since he faced rape charges a while back. The cast also includes Dimple Kapadia, while Surveen Chawla and Lauren Gottlieb have done special dance numbers in the film. Welcome Back is scheduled to release on September 4.
