Ex-servicemen under the banner of the Field Marshal K.M. Kariappa District Ex-Servicemen Association today staged a protest demonstration and held a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office demanding One Rank One Pension (OROP) for ex-servicemen. President of the association Basavaraj Biradar, who led the protest, said that the ex-servicemen in the entire country extended their support to the ongoing struggle at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi demanding the implementation of OROP. The Union government should concede the long-pending demand of the ex-servicemen immediately and pointed out that the BJP had made a promise before the Lok Sabha elections that it would implement the OROP if they were voted to power.
