Ravichandran makes ad debut to fight dengue
In his heydays, the actor refused endorsements though he was in much demand. Now, he fights for a social cause as an ambassador for BBMP

Fighting for social cause seems to be the order of the day in Sandalwood. Several actors and actresses are coming forward to convey social messages and create awareness among public on various issues. Last year Kichha Sudeep joined hands with Bengaluru Traffic Police to educate people about traffic rules while Puneeth Rajkumar and Radhika Pandit were extensively involved in promotions to attract kids to school under the Right To Education scheme. Puneeth, Upendra, Dwivedi and Rachita Ram too featured in commercials of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF). Interestingly all these endorsements were done for free without remuneration.
The latest entry to the list of stars who are into social service endorsements is Crazy star Ravichandran. Known for his creative experiments, Ravichandran has been roped in by the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to create awareness about Dengue and Chikungunya across Bengaluru. The BBMP officials on Monday released a two-minute documentary featuring Ravichandan with a message and a melodious radio jingle urging the people to clear out all stagnant water in their neighbourhood and safeguard themselves against mosquito bites by keeping their surroundings clean and untidy. This is the first ever appearance of Ravichandran in endorsements. Though there were several offers during his heydays to endorse brands, the actor chose to concentrate on films. The actor has recently turned judge on television stage shows and a radio jockey as well.
