According to Gujarat BJP spokesperson IK Jadeja, BJP has successfully elected presidents and vice presidents in 30 municipalities where tenure of outgoing presidents and vice president had been over.

Presidents from BJP are elected in Pardi, Dharampur, Valsad, Songadh, Karjan, Devgadhbaria, Zalod, Idar, Prantij, Dhanera, Tharad, Kalavad, Jamjodhpur, Dwarka, Bhanvad, Salaya, Upleta, Bhayavadar, Jetpur, Manavadar, Bantwa, Kodinar, Rajula, Lathi, Jafrabad, Gariadhar, Talaja and Shihor while Vice president from the party are elected in Mangrol and Vanthli municipality.

Jadeja said BJP successfully elected presidents in Zalod, Tharad and vice presidents in Mangrol and Vanthli municipalities even when it had no majority there.

He said the elections of presidents and vice presidents started from 24 August and will continue till 3 September.

Meanwhile in its statement, the Gujarat Congress today said that party men are elected as presidents and vice presidents in Dhrol, Khedbrahma, Talod and Chhota Udepur municipalities.Of these bodies, Talod has been snatched away from BJP, the Congress statement said.
