A new report by the United Nations human rights office, OHCHR, says the killings and rape in the strife-torn region last year have largely been dismissed by local police and underreported by victims due to a lack of trust in the authorities.
Of the 411 cases of alleged abuse documented by the joint African Union-UN mission in the country, UNAMID, very few were investigated or resulted in arrests.
