Mirror (February 4) had earlier reported that Vikramaditya Motwane's socio-drama, 'Bhavesh Joshi', revolving around a Gujarati superhero, had been put on ice for the time being. The filmmaker had pointed out that it had been scripted when the last government was in power and corruption was rampant. The wrongdoings become the trigger for a boy's personal crusade against the system.
But with a new party at the centre and in the state, Motwane felt that the timing was off and the story was no longer topical.

But even six months ago, he had been categorical that the project had not been shelved. “I will make it some day,“ he had promised. “It's a relevant subject that I'm passionate about. As a Mumbaikar I feel the city, which gives so much to the rest of the country, is grossly ignored. There's no planning and the infrastructure is falling apart."
Imran Khan was to do 'Bhavesh Joshi' earlier, before Motwane moved to Sidharth Malhotra. Sidharth however, will not be doing the film due to other commitments. Now, Mirror has learnt that the 'Lootera' director is reviving his most ambitious film with a new actor: Anil Kapoor's son, Harshvardhan Kapoor. Says a source close to the development, “Vikram and Harsh have known each other well and have been talking about the project. Now, with Eros coming on board, 'Bhavesh Joshi' is back on track. These developments have happened in the last one month."
Harsh will be making his debut in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's 'Mirziya', a contemporary version of Mirza-Sahiba's tragic love story, early next year. “Even before an official still, song or a scene from his first film is out, he's bagged another project and this one has him playing a superhero," adds the source.
