V-League: FEU obliterates La Salle Dasma for share of 2nd spot

Far Eastern University forced a three-way tie for the second spot in the Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference with a ruthless domination of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, 25-7, 25-11, 25-15, Sunday at San Juan Arena.
Jeanette Villareal rose up to turn back an attempt from Lady Patriots’ guest player Desiree Dadang and sealed the Lady Tamaraws’ 4-1 record.
FEU joined University of Santo Tomas and National University for second place behind undefeated Ateneo.
Lady Tamaraws head coach Shaq Delos Santos was proud of his team for the dominant win which they will use to build up momentum in their next two games.
“I’m happy with their amazing performance and now we have to prepare for Ateneo and UST,” Delos Santos said. “Those next games are tough.”
Toni Rose Basas and Heather Guino-o led FEU with 10 points apiece while guest player Jovelyn Gonzaga had eight.
Mariebeth Lara led the 1-4 Lady Patriots with six points.
La Salle-Dasmariñas was put to the mercy of FEU’s offense as it got bombarded with 36 spikes and 13 service aces as the Lady Patriots never scored on an ace.
