After NH10, Anushka Sharma and Navdeep Singh to team up again for Kaneda

Anushka Sharma impressed the audience with the thriller NH10 early this year. Now we hear that Navdeep Singh, the director of the film is set to cast her in his next directorial venture titles Kaneda. Navdeep, who shot to fame with Manorama Six Feet Under in 2007, also said that apart from Kaneda, the two are set to work on a yet untitled project as well.

Speaking to PTI the director said, "Definitely she (Anushka) will be part of one of the two projects that I am working on. I am talking to her for the project that she is going to produce. I can't talk much about which that project is going to be."

Praising Anushka, he added, "Anushka is very natural and a versatile actor. She has done a great job as an actress. But, she hasn't been explored enough as an actress. It was a great experience working with her."

While Kaneda is in the pipeline, he clarified that the movie is not a comedy, but it is about Punjabi gangsters in Vancouver. The lead actors are yet to be finalised but Anushka is certainly a part of the team, but the report said that talks are still on about the project. Speaking about the other film, Singh quipped, "The other project that we are working on is a thriller. It is an original film."

Navdeep and Anushka received high praise from the audience as well as the critics about NH10, which released in March this year. The thriller that is set in northern India shows the dark underbelly of the region. There were rumours that the movie will have a sequel, but Singh denied this.

"I don't know where the news of NH10's sequel have been coming. I am not making any such film. Even Anushka has not heard of NH12 at all," he said.
