On Friday, Students’ Association of Punjab (SAP) also joined hands with the Panjab University Students’ Union (PUSU)-Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) alliance. President of PUSU, Navaldeep Singh, said, “This alliance is a result of the student-friendly policies of PUSU and because we have always been committed to the cause of student welfare.”

YUWA condemns ‘discrimination’

The members of Youth Welfare Association (YUWA) has alleged that despite repeated demands for representation of candidates hailing from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and the North-Eastern states, student organisations have always been discriminating against them.

YUWA in-charge, Priya Ranjan, said, “Every year during the elections, we come across such instances of discrimination.”

Former head of YUWA, Kumar Vikramjeet, said, “We will not vote for a single party rather we will support four different candidates belonging to four different states of India in order to give PU an authentic and a non-biased and national representation.”
