QUETTA: Three alleged smugglers drowned and seven others went missing when their boat capsized after maritime security forces chased them off Pasni coast in Gawadar district on Thursday. According to sources in Pasni, a gang of smugglers was taking a shipment of drugs aboard two boats from a desolate cove in Kalmat area of the coastal town. However, personnel of marine security forces spotted the two boats and signalled them to stop for a snap check, sources said. The smugglers tried to escape and ran their boats at full throttle. But in the bargain, however, one of the vessels overturned, they said. Three passengers on the boat drowned, two were arrested and seven were missing.
