A 24-year-old teacher was seriously injured when she was shot at by two men on a bike at Bilaspur in Gurgaon on Thursday morning.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at about 9 am, when the woman, identified as Deepika, was walking towards the local bus stop. The assailants, who were wearing helmets that covered their faces, were waiting on their bike near the bus stop, they said.
The men fired shots at Deepika, injuring her in the head and chest, before fleeing the scene, said eyewitnesses.
She was rushed to a private hospital in Manesar with serious injuries, and later referred to a private hospital in Gurgaon.

She lost a lot of blood due to the injury in her head and was in a critical condition, according to doctors.
On Thursday evening, police arrested a man who lived in the same village, based on complaints by the woman’s family members, who claimed that he had harassed her on several occasions.
An FIR has been registered against unknown persons and a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (crime) Rajesh Kumar Chechi.
