Woman officer faces 2 transfers, probe after complaint against DCP

Hours after the DD entry was made, the concerned SHO checked the DD entries and the matter was reported to senior officers, said sources.

A woman officer of the Delhi Police was transferred twice and is currently facing a departmental inquiry after she accused the the then deputy commissioner of police of the same district of insulting her, said sources.

The sub-inspector (SI), posted in Outer Delhi, is facing a departmental inquiry after she made an entry in the police station’s daily diary (DD) against the senior police officer, and noted that he had inappropriately talked to her and insulted her in front of other people, they said.

The SI, who has been the investigation officer of nearly 55 rape cases and 40 molestation cases in her four years in the force, has been transferred twice after she made the DD entry no. 85-B.

The incident reportedly took place last year, when she was the investigation officer of an abduction and rape case at the Shahbad Dairy police station.

After the registration of the FIR, the alleged rape victim’s father had met with the then DCP (outer) and claimed that the accused was threatening them, said sources.

“He told the DCP that the alleged accused had not been arrested and the latter was threatening them of  dire consequences,” police sources added.

The accused was later arrested, only to be released on bail within 19 days, before the police could file the chargesheet before the concerned court, said sources.

The complainant, along with her father, again approached the DCP about the delay in filing the chargesheet, who then summoned the investigation officer and the station house officer (SHO), said sources. According to the SI’s DD entry, the DCP spoke rudely and insulted her.

“In her complaint, she said that the DCP told her ‘tum apne aap ko ladki ki jagah rape victim maankar baat karo.. tum per kya bitegi agar uss accused ki bail kara de toh..(just put yourself in place of the girl… how will you feel if we give bail to the accused)’. He insulted her in front of those people and also issued a showcause notice to the sub-inspector,” police sources added.

Hours after the DD entry was made, the concerned SHO checked the DD entries and the matter was reported to senior officers, said sources.

Then additional DCP (outer)  allegedly accused the SI of making a false DD entry without informing her senior officers, in clear violation of several rules of the Punjab Police.

“A departmental enquiry was later initiated against her and she was transferred to the North Rohini police station.

After two months, she was transferred to Bawana police station,” said police sources.

Vikramjit Singh, current deputy commissioner of police (outer), refused to comment on the issue, saying it was a “departmental matter”.
