SURAT: A 37-year-old principal of a school in Gauri village of Khergam taluka in Navsari was booked by police on Thursday in
Dharampur police station of Valsad for allegedly raping a 12-year-old student of his school. The accused molested the girl twice before raping her at his residence in the school campus on Wednesday.
Police booked
Gokul Patel, resident of Gauri Gram Ashram Shala, for allegedly raping the girl student of the school.
The complaint was lodged in police by the minor
survivor’s father, a farm labour. The family had to wait several hours outside Dharampur police station to lodge the complaint. The complaint was registered on Thursday night and will be transferred to
Khergam police station of Navsari.
The survivor study in Gauri Gram Ashram Shala and live in hostel there while her family is from Dharampur. She was called alone in a class room in the Ashram Shala by Patel on Sunday and locked the door. Patel molested her. She was again molested in similar manner on Tuesday by the accused in class room. She was called by Patel to his home in the campus on Wednesday. The accused raped her and threatened her to keep quiet.
The survivor went home on Thursday and informed her parents about the crime after which they approached Dharampur police station. When contacted about delayed registration of rape complaint and family made to stand outside for several hours, Dharampur circle police inspector, A M Parmar, refused to comment claiming that he is not investigating the case.
The accused will be arrested by police once the complaint is transferred to Khergam police station.
