Many actors of his age have already hung up their boots and bid adieu to Bollywood for the mere lack of new roles and challenging characters. But Rishi Kapoor remains one of the few rare people who tasted success on the silver screen at the age of 60 also. From playing the most wanted man in D-Day to a homosexual in Student Of The Year, the 62-year-old actor says that he can pull off any role, if he likes it.

"For my age, not many parts are written. There is always a 'bewajah ka baap' in the film, but I'm not interested in doing that role. I picked up All Is Well because it is all about the four of us (Abhishek Bachchan, Asin, Supriya Pathak and I). I play this egoistic man who has been a failure all his life. A father, who does not share a good relationship with his son. Every father wants his son to take his position in the business. But at the same time, he needs to understand that his son can have his own aspirations," says Rishi Kapoor.

While Rishi plays the irritating father to Abhishek Bachchan in the film, the actor reveals a little secret about Abhishek's character. "Abhishek plays a modern-day Shravan Kumar in All Is Well. You must have heard the popular mythological story of this devoted son who takes his parents on a trip to the 'chaar-dhaam'. Similarly, Abhishek drives his parents around in the film. In fact, in the end he makes his parents finally come together. All Is Well is not just pure entertainment, but the film also tackles socially relevant issues. However, we have tried to put across a message without being preachy," adds the Besharam actor.

It is for the first time that Rishi Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan will share screen space. And it has been a roller-coaster ride for these two actors. If Rishi Kapoor has offered insights into Abhishek's character in reel life, even his on-screen son has admitted that he is the biggest fan of Rishi Kapoor in real life. "It's great fun to work with Rishi uncle. I'm his biggest fan. It's not just that I'm his fan, I'm also a huge admirer of the person he is," says Abhishek.

All Is Well revolves around a dysfunctional family, wherein the people don't get along with each other. But the poster and trailer of the film clearly signify that All Is Well is yet another road movie, where the four main protagonists embark on a road journey. However, director Umesh Shukla begs to differ. "It isn't a road trip film. It is more about their internal journey," he says. Rishi Kapoor adds, "I think somehow since the first poster and trailer came out, it was projected as a road film. But it is not so. The four protagonists are on a road trip, but it definitely doesn't belong to that genre."

Elaborating the same, Shukla says, "It is about the journey within for these four characters in the film. Rishiji plays a stubborn father, and how he realises that he has been harsh with his son all this while. The mother, played by Supriyaji, acts as a bridge between the father and son. But the mother is bogged down by the constant tiffs between the father and the son. On the other hand, the son, played by Abhishek, falls in love with the girl (Asin), but at the same time he realises that he is commitment phobic. While the girl believes in the philosophy of the popular book Secrets, wherein she believes that positivity can create life-changing results and at the end things would turn out the way they have to."

While Asin and Abhishek have shared screen space in Bol Bachchan, the two were not romantically paired opposite each other on film earlier. But with All Is Well, that is not the case. In fact, Asin is quite happy to work with Junior Bachchan yet again. "I have worked with Abhishek before. We share a great bond. He is somebody who stands up for his friends. He is very serious about it. And I loved working with him yet again," says the 29-year-old.

Asin, who has been more in the news recently for her forthcoming marriage than her film All Is Well, will be seen on the silver screen after a gap of three years. However, the actor refuses to call it her comeback film. "I'm not making a comeback with All Is Well. In fact, I signed the film after Khiladi 786, but somehow it got delayed. The film deals with relationships and family values, and that's what appealed to me. And, I hope it works well with the audience," Asin signs off.
