Jay Leno returns to broadcast TV with a comedic guest star gig, “Revenge” alum Nick Wechsler has landed a role on NBC’s upcoming action-thriller “The Player,” plus, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Syfy series “Incorporated” has filled its cast in today’s casting roundup.
Jay Leno will guest star on ABC’s “Last Man Standing,” Variety has confirmed. The latenight icon is heading to primetime for one episode of the Tim Allen and Nancy Travis sitcom, the fifth season of which premieres Sept. 25. He will play a car aficionado — but he’s not playing himself. In the episode, first reported by EW, Vanessa (Travis) buys a car from Leno’s character as a gift for her husband Mike (Allen), but after the deal is done, he keeps showing up to talk about cars.
“Last Man Standing” marks a reunion between the former “Tonight Show” host’s character, as Leno guest starred on Allen’s other ABC hit “Home Improvement” in 1995, playing an auto mechanic.
Also this fall, Leno is returning to TV for a more long-term role with CNBC’s “Jay Leno’s Garage,” which debuts Oct. 7.

Nick Wechsler is heading from the Hamptons to Sin City. The “Revenge” regular found his first TV gig with NBC’s “The Player,” following ABC’s cancellation of the soapy series. The Las Vegas-set drama revolves around a former military operative-turned-security expert (Philip Winchester) who is drawn into a high-stakes game, lead by a pit boss (Wesley Snipes) and dealer (Charity Wakefield), where an organization of wealthy individuals gamble on his ability to stop some of the biggest crimes imaginable from playing out. Wechsler has been cast as Wakefield’s boyfriend, described by Deadline as a good guy with morals caught in the web of a century-old conspiracy.
Levi Miller, who will star alongside Hugh Jackman as title character Peter Pan in this fall’s Greg Berlanti-produced film “Pan,” is flying over to CBS’ “Supergirl,” TV Line reports. Reunited with Berlanti on the series, Miller will play the Calista Flockhart character’s son whom Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) babysits. He is set to make his first appearance in episode four.
Dennis Haysbert, David Hewlett and Ian Tracey will co-star in Syfy’s futuristic espionage pilot “Incorporated,” hailing from exec producers Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. The trio joins the previously cast Sean Teale, who plays the lead character, plus Georgina Haig, Eddie Ramos and Julia Ormond. The cabler announced the casting news on Wednesday.
